FEMA – Community Forms

Overview:
This project began with a client’s vision of merging art and community outreach and with a little help of my creative team, we developed a program that did just that; FEMA ArtWorks. Having the opportunity to bring art to communities on a national level was a dream come true and I was exceptionally fortunate to show what a well-intentioned federal institution can do when giving back to the people it served.

ArtWorks’ first project looked to highlight the public’s flood hazard risk by moving excess storm water to a safer place in a creative way. A call for entries was created and we worked with local artist Matt Barton, to create an outdoor experience that  served as a drainage system, art installation and full-on concrete skatepark.

Why I included it in my portfolio of work:
Aside from the project being an amazing success within the community, I wanted to share a quick video that we put together for expanded community outreach. If there was ever a moment where I wore several hats at once, this project would be at the top of the list as I served as the camera operator, drone pilot, producer, account rep, video editor and VO director.
