FEMA – Community Forms

Overview:
This project began with a client’s vision of merging art and community outreach with the creation of FEMA ArtWorks. I was exceptionally fortunate to show what a well-intentioned federal institution can do when giving back to the people it served.

ArtWorks’ first project highlighted the public’s flood hazard risk by moving excess storm water to a safer place in a creative way. A call for entries allowed us to work with local artist Matt Barton, to create an outdoor experience that served as a drainage system, art installation, and concrete skatepark.
