CDC – The Bums and the Bees

Overview:
Everyone knows about the “birds and the bees” talk that parents have with their kids. But as we get older, there are other issues that our older family members can offer perspective on and lets us know they’re looking out for us. My team created a campaign to raise awareness with younger Gen Xers (age 45-49) around the importance of colorectal cancer screenings. The film results in looking at screenings as not something to be ignored, but as an act of familial love.

Why I included it in my portfolio of work:
After 20 years of being a creative, this was my very first commercial shoot. Being given the opportunity by the acting CCO, I jumped in hoping to learn everything I could from some extremely talented industry professionals. I was able to play a key part in everything from script writing, actor auditioning, dress and set design, all the way to the final edits and cut downs. If anything, my industry vocabulary expanded by 800%.
