FEMA – Mapping Flood Risk Along the Great Lakes

Overview:
This was one of the very first projects I completed for FEMA while at Ogilvy. My task was to take incredibly technical information and make it understandable to non-technical audiences (hint: you and me).

Why I included it in my portfolio of work:
I’m always up for a challenge and when I was given the parameters to work within for this project, it was game on. Not only did we have to translate extremely technical information into something anyone could understand, we had to do it without sound or VO so it could work in a busy room. After figuring out what to say and how to say it, we used animated illustrations and movable type that resulted in something not typically seen in a “government-style” PSA.
