Well, kate and I are getting pretty good at this whole restoring cars thing. Sooo, winter's coming and what to do during the winter besides spooning under the covers and making out a lot? Restoring another car! That's what.
If everything goes according to plan, I will have a nice heated garage of my own to work in and maybe we will sell Betty (don't tell Betty) to
a) pay off my debt
b) take a next step with the missus and
c) get this car...
Behold!

1978 champagne edition II, number 13 in production
1.6 liter original engine with 140000 miles
4 speed transmission
fresh air fan but NO AC
AM radio
In tallahassee florida. May god have mercy on our souls if we attempt to drive it back to VA =)

That thing doesn't even have power steering does it? Should be fun!
wheeee!
Get a life. Put half as much energy in your job or freelance, or anything else.
You are obsessed!
Everybody's obsessed about something. As long as you can make the rest seem to be somewhat functional, why bother?
Just make me feel like a used Kia, why don't you?
I let you INSIDE me, deep inside me! It wasn't just a physical restoration thing to me, it was more! It was a spiritual thing, and what do you do? The first "mature" model that rolls by gets googlie-eyes from you and I'm just an asset. No wonder Dara has to wind out alternator coils and pop Serpentine belts to keep your attention, I understand it all now.
*uncontrollable sobbing*
hey, that's russ's car! lol.
i used to live in that house...
that thing is rock solid. we put alot of work into it.
that yard is a treasure-trove of parts for mk1-2's too.

you can find me on the 'tex as 'aircooledtraitor'
oh, and one more thing. it has a brand new clutch/plate, new brakes, new fuel pump and several other new "non-mechanical" goodies: "wires, plugs, battery and a radiator i beleive. more could have been done, but i dont live in tally anymore.
he has the original crush veloure seats too, he just put in those mk2 seats to protect the nice champaign ones.
oh, and that was my suspension. i'm trying to buy it back to go on my new project. please dont buy the suspension! i want it! *SOBS*
